Consistently good food and good prices. I usually order take-out, but I had a good experience the one time I dined in the restaurant. I'll continue to be a customer as long as they're in business if the quality stays where it is now.

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in Woodland Park. The owners are really nice. I typically get the Hunan chicken. My husband is a fan of the chicken with lemon sauce. Most dinners are enough for two meals for me.

Went here after a camping trip. Really weird place. The service was good, pretty run of the mill average food. We arrived right at open on a Sunday, so it was completely empty. A couple chipmunks decided to come through the open back door and wander around the dining room, sanitary right? They also were playing what I can only describe as Chinese Def Leppard on their boom box. Whole visit was pretty surreal, but quiet and kind of pleasant none the less. I'd come back, but not for the food.

Having read other reviews here, I was a bit hesitant to try the Mayflower, but I have to say our experience was quite nice. The decor and cleanliness is a cut above other Chinese in Woodland Park. The service was excellent. I had the kung pao chicken. It was nicely presented, but the flavor was no better than average with the chicken perhaps overcooked just a bit. When I look for Chinese in Woodland Park the Mayflower will be my first choice.

Just ok. The food is standard Chinese food, not the best I've had and not the worst. Prices are fair. I don't like eating here because the bathrooms are so disgusting. If they don't care about the condition their bathrooms are in, it makes me wonder about the kitchen. I probably won't come back.

This used to be a great place to eat, but after a really bad experience this past Feb... I'll never eat there again. First, we could hardly get a server to our table, even though the place was almost empty. (One other table besides ours) The staff was hanging out amongst themselves in the room next to the bar, with a couple of small kids. One server actually walked away from our table WHILE my friend was in the process of placing his order... ten minutes later, we were still waiting for her to come back and had to flag someone down to place our order. Secondly, our food arrived to the table room-temperature, not hot... and by then, we were out of beverages, including water. The server ignored our requests for more drinks, and didn't return to our table after that. (Though she appeared very attentive to the table next to us... it was truly a bazaar experience because it was almost as if they were trying to be rude intentionally.) We both left there wishing we would have gone somewhere else. I'll never eat there again.

Our party of four ate dinner at the Mayflower this past Saturday night. The restaurant only had a few tables with customers when we arrived at 7:00 PM. We were seated quickly, and asked what we would like to drink. Our food order was taken within 10 minutes of having been seated and receiving our beverages. Our entrees came out surprisingly quick...like real fast. And although the entree portions were colossal, their taste was bland. The meat portion of each of our entrees was odd....my chicken was "funny" and had little flavor. My wife's beef was fatty, and way too tender to be normal....a mystery. The steamed rice was fine and the only option for rice. We love Chinese food but will travel to Colorado Springs for better fare. Prices were inexpensive and the service was good. The provided food quantity was overwhelming yet the quality left us underwhelmed!

Great Chinese food, our favorite in Woodland Park! Consistently good, fast, friendly staff. Attractive interior/ambiance, too, for the price. I can vouch for the Hunan Beef and Lo Mein.

From the outside, it looks like a hole in the wall. But don't judge a book by it's cover, especially in the case of Chinese food! Once inside, this place has a beautiful atmosphere. I was with a group of 8, we were seated and taken care of quickly. The lunch special is a pretty fabulous deal: entree, eggroll, fried rice, crab rangoon, and your choice of soup for 6.50! I got the egg drop soup, which was good, but I'll probably try the won-ton soup next time as it looked fabulous! The beef with snow peas was my entree selection, delicious and finished off in a hurry. Would have definitely made a 5 star rating had it not been for the disappointingly sub-par egg roll. Other than that, no complaints here!

I had one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had here tonight! First they charge 5.50 for a tiny cup of soup and when they brought the wonton soup to the table the noodles were uncooked and the inside was frozen. I sent it back and the waitress was really rude about it not even offering an apology. My husband and daughter said the egg drop soup was awful as well and didn't eat them. Then when our dinner arrived my egg fu yung was as hard as a hockey puck and dry with a side of sauce, I took one bite and almost gagged as did my husband. Finally 20 minutes later the waitress returns and I told her to take the egg fu yung back as it was inedible and the response I got was a dirty look and her storming away, again no apology. When our check arrived she had not taken the egg fu yung off the bill so I inquired and she said "I am not going to do that". I asked to speak with the owner and when she finally arrived I told her about the wontons and she basically called me a liar, I then told her about the egg fu yung and she said that is how it's supposed to be. I am a Chinese food lover and trust me, that is NOT how it is supposed to be by a long shot!!! I think Chef Ramsey needs to visit this dive for sure! It goes without saying we will NEVER go back to the Mayflower. We are locals and I don't think it's very wise to treat your local customers in a small town in such a manner. The bad food I could put down as a possible cooking fluke and they could have turned the situation around to where I MIGHT return but their customer service is unforgivable!!

Good wonton soup and large sized dinner portions. The lo mein is pretty good.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
